We grilled some steaks at the winery today, opened some Reserve Cabernet & toasted to the end of 2010 & the beginning of 2011. There is a Chinese blessing & curse that says "May you live in interesting times." 2010 has been an interesting year at Cap*Rock. The end of 2010 has been interesting in the best sense of the word.
In 2010, we were able to buy more Texas grapes than in the previous several years combined. It was a fantastic harvest & we are making some great wines from local fruit
. Hopefully by February we will have label approval on our new wines & we will be able to bottle them so that someone ouside the winery can taste them & judge for themselves.
In 2011 we will more than double the number of wines that we produce. I'll write more details as we get closer to bottling. We are excited though! We are also excited about our switch to Glazer's Distribution. In 2011 you should be able to find Cap*Rock wine in more places than ever.
In 2011 we will carry over some of the regular events at Cap*Rock Winery. We'll have wine class on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We'll have a Mardi Gras Festival & a Harvest Festival. We'll also add some new events & bring back dinner & a movie. It should be a great year here & we want you to join the fun. If you drop us a line at the winery we'll update you about upcoming events, or keep reading this blog. I promise I'll make it more interesting as we go.
Thanks to those who supported us in 2010! Your support means more than you know. Now we are looking forward to a great 2011. Come by the winery & try some wine & we'll show you why we are so excited about the future.
Happy New Year!
Phillip
