Cap*Rock Wines Receive National
And International Recognition
In the May 15, 1998 issue of
prestigious Spectator Buying Guide*,
Cap*Rock Cabernet Sauvignon,
1995 and Cap*Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Texas
High Plains Reserve 1995, received two of the
Magazine's highest ratings for Texas Wines.
Buy Texas Magazine reported that the 1993
Cap*Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Wines won gold at
the 1995 Expovina International Competition in
Zurich, a major wine competition held each
summer. According to De Pierce, Cap*Rock
president, "As a result of the Swiss gold medal, we
have started our 4th year of doing business in
Switzerland with Werner Butz, owner of VIANSA
SA, Wines of America, with our largest sale ever.
"Werner chose Cap*Rock as his Texas wine
offering along with wines from California,
Washington, Oregon and New Mexico for sale in
Switzerland and other European countries.
Werner contacted John Bratcher, Cap*Rock vice
president of sales and marketing, four years ago and
said that he was interested in Cap*Rock because
he wanted a high quality Texas wine that was also
affordable.
"Our wines have been well accepted in
Switzerland where sales have been steadily
growing," Pierce said. Cap*Rock Wines are
distributed for retail sales by COOP SCHWEIZ,
one of the country's largest wine distributors.
"In April, 1998, we shipped over 16,600 gallons,
about 7,000 cases, of 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon in
bulk to Switzerland to be bottled under the
Cap*Rock label. Werner is also selling Cap*Rock
Garnet Royale to restaurants and has presented
Cap*Rock in the Czech Republic, Germany and
Holland for possible future sales," Pierce said.
